Over the last seven days, the Red Cross in Greater New York has provided emergency assistance to 238 adults and 86 children following 48 local disaster responses. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

  • Dec 2: Red Cross Board Member in MNYN and Greenwich Police Chief Jim Heavey is challenging the community to schedule 100 new appointments to donate blood in honor of his 100th blood donation, hosting a Battle of the Badges Blood Drive in Greenwich, Conn.   • Oct 25: The 2023 film “Oppenheimer” led audiences on a tour de force through J. Robert Oppenheimer's work on the Manhattan Project, which ushered in a new era of destruction in war. Join the American Red Cross as we use the film to explore the dawn of the nuclear era and its intersection with the law. 
  • Oct 26: This fall, we will recognize heroic individuals and compassionate leaders who embody our humanitarian mission at the Long Island Heroes Celebration. Join us for an evening of cocktails, fine dining, and music, as well as one-of-a-kind auction items.
