Red Cross and NYCEM teamed up for a thunderbolt exercise to test our
readiness and improve how we respond to a major disaster in NYC.

From May 4-10, the Red Cross in Greater New York provided emergency assistance to 205 adults and 60 children following 38 local disasters. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

Last Week in Review

• Over the weekend, Red Cross and NYCEM teamed up for a thunderbolt exercise to test our readiness and improve how we respond to a major disaster in NYC.
• Last Friday, PIX11 is reporting the Red Cross helped 31 displaced residents after a fire on Weirfield Street in Bushwick (Brooklyn).
• ABC7 and News12 reported on the Red Cross helping 9 adults and 3 children after a fatal fire on Third Ave in Mott Haven (Bronx) on Tuesday.
• The LI Herald, Daily Voice and Newsday reported on the #LIRedCross helping 14 residents after a fire on Raynor St in Freeport (Nassau County).
• Nearly one month after Super Typhoon Sinlaku devastated the islands of Saipan and Tinian, Maria Anguiano joined the hundreds of American Red Cross workers who are there to make sure people get the help they need.
