- Last Saturday, in honor of Armed Forces Day, some of our 4-legged volunteers visited West Point U.S. Military Academy to show the brave men and women who currently serve in our military that their dedication, sacrifice and service is truly appreciated.
- The American Red Cross participated in a Memorial Day event at DeWitt Clinton Park to celebrate the Americans who served in World War One, many of whom lived in Hell's Kitchen and Brooklyn when they enlisted.
- Our Long Island CEO Jose Dominguez joined John Lynch at Connoisseur Media to talk about the services our volunteers deliver every day, how to nominate heroes for our upcoming Long Island Heroes Celebration, how to prepare for hurricane season, how to protect your family from home fires, and more!
- Our regional CEO Doreen Thomann-Howe presented a certificate of appreciation to IBEW Local 3 Staten Island Electrical Club for their support of our Home Fire Program.
- Last Wednesday, volunteers and partners made 103 NYC homes safer by installing free smoke alarms and educating families on fire safety as part of the third Sound the Alarm event in the region.
- Rain or shine, our incredible Service to the Armed Forces volunteers from Greater New York were honored to support our veterans at the Pedals of Honor event in Central Park.
