We honored Simone Kelly with the Red Cross Lifesaving Award for
her heroic actions during the Knicks championship parade.

From August 31 - September 6, the Red Cross in Greater New York provided emergency assistance to 91 adults and 39 children following 29 local disasters. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

Last Week in Review

• On Sunday, Hoodline and News12 reported on the Red Cross providing emergency assistance to 15 households after a 2-alarm fire in Kensington (Brooklyn).
• 1010wins, CBS2, and NBC4 reported on the Red Cross recognizing Simone Kelly with the American Red Cross Lifesaving Award after saving an unconscious man’s life during the Knicks championship parade.
• We provided fire safety and disaster preparedness information at the CUNY Coalition for Students with Disabilities Accessibility Fair at Lehman College.
• Red Cross partner Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause’s Bodie and Olive helped spread comfort at a West Point blood drive.
• Last Tuesday evening, PIX11 and QNS reported on the Red Cross assisting 2 families following a fire in South Ozone Park (Queens).
