Over the last seven days, the Greater New York Red Cross provided emergency assistance to 119 adults and 36 children following 48 local disasters. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

Last Week in Review

• On Sunday, in celebration of Women’s Day, we honored women of the Red Cross and our inspiring founder Clara Barton. Cheers and admiration to all women in our organization!
• On Saturday, at the Share the Red Orientation event we had fun and welcomed new volunteers. Thank you to all attendees who joined us!
• Last Tuesday, Our amazing Emergency Preparedness team spent the morning at PS 19 Asher Levy school, training youngsters on how to Prepare with Pedro the Penguin 🐧 for emergencies.
• Also, last Tuesday, Patchogue Medford Red Cross High School Club completed a training class to learn how to support a shelter after a disaster. Congratulations!
• We are proud to partner with Senator James Sanders Jr and Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright. Together we will make their constituents better prepared and more resilient to home fires.
• New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo recognized Red Cross Month and the contributions and work of all of our amazing team members across the state!
