Over the last seven days, the Greater New York Red Cross has provided emergency assistance to 123 adults and 52 children following 41 local disaster responses. Here are some highlights from last week and a preview of upcoming activities. (See below)

Last Week in Review

• Red Cross staff and volunteers gathered and proudly marched in the NYC Pride Parade.

• On Sunday, ABC7NY reported on a Brooklyn fire where Red Cross provided financial and housing assistance.

• On Saturday, Long Island Red Cross volunteers trained at our Shelter Simulation Workshop in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season.

• Être Girls founder and author Illana Raia interviewed Carolina Herrera’s president Emilie Rubinfeld at the American Red Cross launch of Clara’s Council on Tuesday. See more photos here.

• Earlier in the week, we held a virtual Hands-Only CPR training event via Zoom.

• International Humanitarian Law instructor, Kylia Van Wyk shared her inspiring story about how she came to work with the Red Cross.

• Last week, Jose Dominguez, Executive Director of American Red Cross Greater New York, presented GNYADA with a plaque for the $100,000 donation made by the association to assist in our Ukrainian Relief efforts.
